Get compensation from Eurowings: Knowing your rights is enough to get compensation?
How well do you know your rights as an air passenger? We will try to present them to you, whether for trips departing from the European Union or the rest of the world.
An outline of what Eurowings owes you if your trip on board doesn’t go as planned
With regard to this air carrier, when the flight is canceled or delayed due to force majeure, the passenger has little recourse to the German airline. It will be case by case to obtain compensation.
But when the company is responsible for the delay or cancellation, the passenger can claim:
– The cost of the hotel room
– Meals
– Communication costs
– Loss of work income
However, this will often involve small claims litigation in order to succeed. So try to negotiate with your company before getting there and above all, keep all your supporting documents.
When traveling on planes operated by the German carrier, your air passenger rights apply whether you take a flight within the EU and is insured by an airline established in the EU or outside from the EU, or if your flight departs from an airport located in the EU to a country outside the EU and is operated by an airline established in the EU or outside the EU.
For example, if you are traveling from Canada to the EU on a Eurowings flight, you are eligible.
If you are denied boarding, or if your flight is canceled or overbooked, you are entitled to:
– re-routing to your final destination on comparable terms or,
– reimbursement of your ticket and, where applicable, free re-routing to your departure point.
If your flight is delayed by at least 5 hours, you can also request a refund (the airline is no longer obliged to assist you).
In all cases, the airline company must inform you of your rights and explain to you why your flight has been canceled or delayed (for any delay of more than 2 hours, or 4 hours for flights of more than 3,500 km ).
Get compensated
This is the most interesting part because … concrete!
You can be compensated in 4 cases:
– if you are denied access on board,
– if your flight is canceled,
– if your flight arrives more than 3 hours late at its final destination,
– if your luggage is lost, damaged or delayed.
To be compensated, it must not be due to exceptional circumstances (climatic conditions for example) independent of the company.
For delays and cancellations, compensation will be 250 to 600 euros depending on the distance of the flight:
In the EU.
– Up to 1,500 km: 250 euros
– More than 1,500 km: 400 euros
Between an airport in the EU and an airport outside the EU
– Up to 1,500 km: 250 euros
– From 1,500 to 3,500 km: 400 euros
– More than 3,500 km: 600 euros
Example: Your Munich-Bangkok flight arrives 3:30 hours late, you are then entitled to compensation of 600 euros.
So you will understand. If you are traveling from or to the European Union, it would be better to do so on an EU company so that you are almost certain to obtain compensation in the event of a problem.
Startups are ready to fight to assert your rights
Do not waste any more time and spoil your good mood by addressing to your transporter a complaint without you receiving the answer which corresponds to your expectations.
Companies accumulating decades of experience in the field of defense of air consumers, simplify the procedures for obtaining compensation from airlines including Eurowings in exchange for a commission deducted from the amount that will be paid by the company .
They take care of everything: you indicate the problematic thefts, some information about you, and the company will get the compensation that is due to you.
In addition, you can scan your emails to see if other thefts made in the past could allow you to obtain compensation.
