What the law says ?
It is the European regulation CE 261/2004 which defines the rights of the passengers. What’s he saying ?
The flights and routes concerned:
All flights from a European Union airport plus those from Norway, Switzerland and Iceland but also all flights to the European Union if the airline is European.
SunExpress proves that the delay on your flight due to a situation beyond its control: cannot obtain compensation in the event of extraordinary circumstances (weather, lack of security at the airport, strike by air traffic control technicians, …) Which could not have been avoided.
What does the cost of your compensation depend on?
It is the duration of the flight delay that is decisive for receiving compensation.
– Delay of less than two hours: 0 €
– Delay of 2 hours or more for flights of 1,500 km or less: € 250
– Delay of 3 hours or more for flights over 1,500 km up to 3,500 km and all intra-Community flights over 1,500 km: € 400
– Delay of 4 hours or more for all other flights over 3,500 km: € 600
The airline of Turkey is obliged to assume the costs of refreshments, catering, accommodation pending the departure of the aircraft.
In the event of a delay of at least 5 hours, the passenger can request the reimbursement of his plane ticket if he renounces to make the flight and can even ask for a return flight to the airport of initial departure. The airline must pay compensation in cash, check, by bank transfer or by credit note with the written consent of the passenger.

In this case, you have the choice between being redirected by another flight or being reimbursed for the plane ticket if he gives up taking the flight, but also being compensated by your operator. The scales are identical to the flight delay.
As with flight delay, the carrier is obliged to cover the costs of catering, refreshments, accommodation while waiting. However, if the airline notifies passengers at least two weeks before the flight departs, there is no compensation. Likewise, if the airline offers another place on a flight whose time is near, the passenger cannot receive compensation.
Your plane is overloaded (overbooking)
In the event of overbooking, SunExpress is obliged to appeal to passengers who wish to give up their flight. The passengers in question must then enter into negotiations with the carrier regarding their compensation. At a minimum, they can choose between re-routing on another flight or reimbursing the ticket if they renounce taking the flight during their trip.
Passengers who are refused due to overbooking benefit from re-routing by another flight or reimbursement of the air ticket, or from covering costs (catering, refreshments, accommodation) while waiting or even immediate compensation depending on the same terms as delay or cancellation of a flight.
On the other hand, if it is the traveler who refuses to board, he cannot claim compensation.
