At the last minute, XL Airways decides to change its departure times, your flight is thus delayed, what should you do?

These reasons do not oblige the Airline to compensate the passenger, the main reason for the delay being beyond the control of the Airline.
– Non-exceptional or non-extraordinary reason: A strike by airline staff, a preventable technical error.
In this kind of situation, the fault of the airline is the main cause of the delay and you can be compensated:
– 250 € for flights of 1500 km or less,
– 400 € for flights over 1,500 km, or between 1,500 km and 3,500 km (excluding EU),
– 600 € for flights over 3500 kms.
It is therefore important to be well informed about regulation (EC) 261/2004 in order to travel peacefully.
You should know that a long delayed flight is a fairly rare fact, so you can buy tickets without pressure.

First of all, you should know that these different criteria are based on the European regulation which has existed since 2004.
All European airlines or flights departing from Europe are therefore affected by this regulation and none is supposed to escape it. – Medium-haul flight of 1,500 to 3,500 km (for example Paris-Lisbon): € 400 per passenger
– Long-haul flight beyond 3,500 km (for example Paris-Abu Dhabi): € 600 per passenger
